Cost to neuter my puppy!
I am horrified at the prices they are charging in my area to neuter Marty! My vet wants $455 to do it! I am ****** b/c if I had adopted him from a NJ Rescue organization rather than a NY one the cost would be so much less! Why if it is the ethical thing to do is it so much money???? I could do a program where i buy a certificate online and then it would cost about $205, but the nearest place is about a 25-30 minute drive. He has severe car anxiety. This is giving ME anxiety

WOW! $455? I just got Shammy neutered and it was $295. Are you getting other things done like a chip or a heartworm test at the same time. Maybe that is whats driving up the price

nope. just neuter. without pre-op bloodwork it would be $368. Ridiculous.
and I have been calling around to other local vets and they are by FAR the most expensive. UGH.

I'm right there with ya. You can always go to the mobile vet unit if you get there early enough and can catch them.

I neutered my cat with mobile vet and i got there at 5am to wait in line. They only accept a certain amount of clients. Just FYI

I think for Potter is was about $300-$350 but he had to have teeth pulled to which jacked it up to $900

You can get a muffin's certificate for $65 (if he's under 30lbs, if he's over it would be more but I think you would have to call the vet directly). Here's a link to the vets on LI who accept the muffin's certificate:

we took our dog to Kent Animal Shelter and they did it for almost 1/2 the price!
