testing and miscarriage
I had a D&C a few weeks ago and lost the pregnancy around 11.5 weeks. I had no symptoms, no bleeding etc. I was at my 1st trimester screening and after they discovered no hearbeat, the DR there suggested I get the tissue tested, and that I also get myself tested too. This isn't my first M/C, I had one two years ago in 2008, but it was very early-right after I found out, I MC a few days later.
In between this time, I had my son in which I carried to full-term and he was fine.
Do you know what kinds of things they would test me for? Has anyone had this done after 2 miscarriages that weren't consecutive? Just wanted to see if anyone else had this done?
Many hugs to all!

Re: testing and miscarriage
Im so sorry. They usually test for chromosomal issues. My doc checked for immune issues as well but thats not standard.

Re: testing and miscarriage
Sorry for your loss
I mc 6 weeks ago at 9w6d but baby stopped growing @ 8w. My dr suggested I have tissue tested so we can know why it happened. Also Im 39 & she wanted to test to confirm it was chromosomal (it was) and not something else. She said this was very normal & why most mc happen (trisomy). Hope you find some answers & can move forward.

Re: testing and miscarriage
Im so sorry for your loss... i waited until my 3rd loss to get tested... i wish i didnt... but it is what it is... Dr B was able to find several things wrong... all of which contributed to my losses...
i wont have to do IUI or IVF due to the fact that i dont have a problem getting pregnant its keeping the pregnancy thats the problem...

Re: testing and miscarriage
Thanks so much for the feedback, ladies! I guess I always thought it was after two consecutive, but I figured maybe it's best to test myself to make sure nothing is going on with me as well.
Thanks again, and hugs to all!

Re: testing and miscarriage
I am so sorry for your loss.
I don't have experience with the testing though - mine was my first loss so they didn't do it but now I am having other issues so I wish I had.

Re: testing and miscarriage
I am so very sorry for your loss. They will probably test you for clotting issues. I had one m/c and insisted on the testing because I just had a feeling. Turned out my feeling was correct, I had a clotting disorder and then took lovenox for each of my successive pregnancies, both of which I carried to term.

Re: testing and miscarriage
Thanks agsin for all the responses! I really appreciate it!
I called the dr office again today to see if there were any results in and nothing. I will try at the ends of thsve week . I don't know what to expect.. It's, been almost three weeks since the d&c :(
Sorry for all the questions but how did you suspect you had a clotting disorder? I had my son with no.issues... Does it happen with every pregnancy youwould have? Just so confused. I will very myself tested after my next period.
Thanks agsin and hugs to.all!!!!!
