Is it normal to suddenly become allergic to apples?
Apples were never a big part of my diet, but I've started eating them recently. Every time I eat one, when I'm about half way done, I start sneezing nonstop for 5 minutes or so. Does this mean I'm allergic to apples? I've eaten them before bu this never happened. Any response helps!

Yes!! The same thing happened to me (but a different reaction). About 4 years ago, I started eating apples again (I hadn't eaten them for years). Every time I ate them my throat would get very itchy. It turns out I am allergic to foods in the "birch family". This includes almonds, plums, peaches, kiwis, and some other fruits.

This happened to me about 5 years ago too. It's pretty common in people who have bad seasonal allergies. Are you allergic to pollen? If so, you might have Oral Allergy Syndrome. The most common kind is to itch and sneeze when you eat foods related to a birch tree.
My trigger foods are apples and almonds, and I also have allergic reactions to plums and cherries.
The good news is that you only get the reaction when you eat the food raw. So applesauce, apple pie, etc. are still on the table!
