Licker on the loose

We've got a 3 yr old pit? boxer? hound? (not sure what he is)He is brindle very sweet dog. He constantly licks. We have been trying to get this to stop for a few years now. If we let him he would lick your hand for hours on end. We usually say no lick in a stern voice and he will stop but then always starts up. It's gotten to where you dread petting him because he will turn his head every which way to lick you. He also get svery out of hand when people come over-he calms down after a bit but he just seems nuts!We have a 5 yr old chow/shepard/collie mix that was just an amazing pup and dog-we never had issues with him at all.

Our family dog is a licker...her poor paws are always red! eta...she is a pit.

Denver is a licker. When he sleeps with us, he'll wake us up by licking our faces or ears. If you pet him, he licks your fingers. If you stand near him in sandals, he licks your toes or calf. I think some dogs are just naturally like that. We say, "NO" sternly sometimes but all that seems to work is physically moving away from him.
