If your dc has a Thomas the Train wooden set...
Do you think it's worth the price?
They seem expensive, so just wondering...

I do think they are worth it. The quality is so much better. We have an imaginarium train table and while it's great, there is a huge difference between their tracks and the ones made by Learning Curve (Thomas the Train).

No, not worth it, get the Imaginarium set that includes the table for $150 at TRU.
Then go on ebay and get a set of Thomas trains for alot less than retail.

I got a box of 100 track pieces from Amazon - I don't remember the brand, but they were like $40 for all. Anyway, they're just as good as Thomas tracks, IMO. I don't see a difference at all. Buy them cheap - it doesn't matter!

Re: If your dc has a Thomas the Train wooden set...
Wooden tracks in general are worth their weight in GOLD! I cant tell you how many hours my DS has gotten out those tracks! He LOVES them! That being said, we have Thomas, Melissa & Doug and some set that Costco sold last year! They all work together! I do Love the accessories for Thomas though adn my Ds loves them too! I usually buy them with coupon or on sale at AC Moore! At Christmas my dad got DS 2 sets, Figure 8 and something else for $40 (last year).
We probably have 100 trains (no lie!) but alot were handme downs! My nephew is 10 and alot of the trains started with him, so I think my ILS got their money worth, as my nephew, niece and now my DS have all used them a TON!

Also I do agree with this, the thomas brand ones are much better than say the ones I bought at Costco, some of which have broken or dont fit properly with tracks that came in the same set! I also have a Target set that the ends have come undone and I have had to reglue them back more than once.
However I am no snob, we have all sets!!! I really just like the add ons for THomas better, Tidmouth sheds, Oil Depot, Knapford station etc!

I don't have any others so I can't compare but I LOVE my sons Thomas the Train Wooden Sets, trains and accessories. They are so well made and I even have some thomas stuff from my nephew who is 10 now and it looks brand new. You can also find good deals on Thomas at places like AC Moore (with coupon), ebay, or even TRUS when they are having a sale. Oh and TJMAX has tons of Thomas stuff right now!!

I actually love the accessories from Thomas more than the entire sets.
I was thinking of getting DS the Melissa and Doug and just adding Thomas pieces.
