i really try to not buy too much because i know that my family will buy him a ton and then we'll have nowhere to put it... so this year (21 months) i got a play kitchen, , play food for the kitchen, musical mat, easel/art desk, paint, markers, paper roll, smock, etc. to go with it, a christmas book, a stuffed reindeer, a box of legos, peel and stick chalkboard, and some clothes...

A lot  too many I know. I don't know exactly but 15 or more, plus clothes. What is scary is my parents got her probally close to 20 toys including a kitchen set. Than she will also get gifts from Aunts and Uncles and her Great Grandma. I have no idea where we are going to put any of this. She is way too spoiled because she is the first grandchild and niece.

5 toys, 3 books, a onesie, 2 sets of socks, 2 pacifiers and this puppet washcloth thing. He is 8.5 months. All I know for sure he is also getting is a set of blocks and a baby playyard, so desperately needed.

Lol, I just bought DS another gift...I've been feeling a bit guilty that he only has a few gifts from us, lol. I'll probably be buying things until I can't get them shipped in time anymore...and then I'll hit target

DS is 6 and got about 7 gifts (big one is the 3DS and games, then a telescope and twister).
Dd is 2 and has about 12 gifts (dollhouse w/rooms and a baby carriage plus a baby crib).
Both have a few new books, ornaments and stocking stuffers.
We go by cost of gifts to be equal. I tried to stay at 300 each. I almost got a bond for DD to be equal but I found her some extras ;).

I ended up with 13 gifts each. I have three kids, (5, 3, and 1.5) I thought this was plenty :)

2 gifts each plus a couple of trinkets each in their stockings.
My kids are only 1 and 2 plus they get all kinds of gifts from relatives. I just don't see the need to spend all that money at this point in the game.

We celebrate Christmas and I try to stick to 3 gifts from Santa, as there were 3 Wise Men who brought gifts to baby Jesus. I did go a little over that this year so I guess the extra gifts will be from mommy & daddy!

Something unfortunate happened to my kids this year.
My husband was transferred in mid nov.
leaving me to pack up my house solo the last week of nov.
i touched each and every item we own.
the move is temporary. which means more junk for me to box up one day.
i would say they are getting 5 things under the tree, then some outside things.
normally we get museum memberships, but where i live now..there is nothing like that.
i used money saved and adopted 2 families for the holidays. we had a magical night, the kids and me, shopping for our adopted familiies. i have never been so proud of my kids...searching for items on the list. i think we are doing it every year. one fam for josh and one fam for jessie.

Maybe 20 or so, I didn't count them. Just keep adding them to the Santa sacks and hoping they come out to be the same height for each

Not very much just a few small things. Their birthday was last week and they got a ton of stuff and will receive even more from family for xmas. DH and I are holding out until they can really understand what Santa is.

Waaaaaaay too many!!!! Honestly, DD probably has 30+ gifts to open Xmas morning buuuuut............she is our only child right now and since she really only gets toys on her birthday and Xmas we tend to spoil her a little this time of year. This Santa had way too much fun shopping!!!
Edit ~ She also gets a ton of gifts on Xmas eve from my extended family and then more on xmas day from my IL's.

We bought DS one big toy, one toy to save since it's his first xmas, some smaller toys, some DVDs, some books and instead of buying more, we're going to put money away for him in his savings account. He's going to get tons from my family and DH's family since it's his first xmas so I didn't want to go crazy, my house is going to be a zoo!

2 - one from us and one from Santa.
We got her a Lego push train set and wooden Spanish alphabet blocks.
She is getting plenty from our families.... a play kitchen, play-doh, etc.
To each her own..... but I don't want DD thinking that Christmas is all about the presents. And I am not even Christian!

oooh i like this idea, i may steal it! we have 4 gifts but maybe i will save one for three kings day!
I had two things happen last year. . .two of my nieces got into a BRAWL b/c one had more gifts than the other.
then another niece, 5 years old, stopped in the middle of opening her presents, started crying and said "i just want to play with my toys now, can i stop opening presents"
two things, that i hope i remember forever b/c they really affected my thoughts on what I was getting for DD!

My son who is 4 has like 20-23 including smaller things... TOO much but I spoil them at Christmas....And a lot I got on clearance etc.
The Twins who are 2 have about 8 each plus an easel and a trampoline to share and two little plush chairs.

we have 4 & are on a budget. with that said, from my husband and I they will be getting 1 big thing each & 3 small things. Our basement is finished & was my photo studio, we just turned it onto a playroom for the children because I now have designated studio space. So setting up the playroom is their "hanukah gift" & on christmas day they will get their main gifts. FUN FUN FUN!

DS is only 4.5 months, so we got him two big toys and a couple of little toys/books for his stocking. We have big families so he will get more than enough this year!
