Re: starting ivf question
Hey G! I don't know much abut PCOS but does BCP help with timing of your cycles? I know most RE's prescribe 3 weeks of BCP's and then once you come off, AF arrives.
Other than that, I have no idea what protocol might be for you. Excited that you're talking about starting tho... you go for your sonogram next month, right?

Re: starting ivf question
i would guess you'd do BCP first and the RE can start that really any time. if they want u to bleed first i dont see why they couldnt give u provera.

Re: starting ivf question
I dont think they will make you wait, especially knowing that it can take 60 days before AF arrives! For me, my RE had me start with BCP. I started BCP a few days after AF started. I did about 3 1/2 weeks of BCP then about 2-3 days after i stopped BCP i started stims.
So i'm thinking it would make sense to give you Provera to make AF come then start you on BCPs.
Good luck!

Re: starting ivf question
I have PCOS. Before Metformin my cycles were like waiting for Christmas to come. Now, I have had this question and was told if I did not get my period there was a medication they could give me to bring it on. I think it depends on the stage of your ovaries and lining on which medication you get.

Re: starting ivf question
Like others mentioned, it is common to start BCP before a fresh IVF cycle, hopefully that will help bring AF. If not, I really don't know why they would want to wait. GL!

Re: starting ivf question
i think after around 30 or so days they would give you prover. they were going to give it to me when i was waiting to start Lupron, but i got it before i could take it.
