Maternity clothing question
How do I know what size to buy? I normally take size 14/16 pants. I am in the middle of my 5th month. Thanks for whatever advice you have.

Re: Maternity clothing question
No real advice except that every woman is different. I don't believe the tags at the store which say you should buy your regular size, just in a maternity cut. I am normally a size 4-6 so I should be buying everything small --- but for all three pregnancies I've ended up wearing Large or XLarge maternity clothes by about month 7. I was just at the Motherhood outlet in Riverhead this weekend, tried on some medium shirts and was sad to see they didn't cover my belly

Same here but at 28/29 weeks I'm starting to notice that my shirts are getting a little short and riding up. I'm guessing ill have to get a few shirts in a size larger for the last two months. So far my pants still fit if I go by my pre pregnancy size.

Same here, except in the last few weeks of my pregnancy, the shirts weren't long enough anymore.

Re: Maternity clothing question
As some of the other posters mentioned, it is sometimes difficult to predict or go just by the tag size. I would recommend trying on the clothes. Also you might not be able to buy too many clothes in advance for 8-9 months mark. You may have to buy some of the clothes as you progress.
Have fun shopping!

Re: Maternity clothing question
Def try them on because like regular clothing each piece has a different cut and there are different designers where you might be 1 size in their clothing and another size in a different designer.
When I went to the store I asked the sales woman for help and she was a huge help! I say ask them for help, they happen to be pretty knowledgeable. =)

Re: Maternity clothing question
I think the only way to do it especially if this is your first time buy maternity clothes would be to try them on. Just like regular clothes, sometimes sizes run differently depending on the brand.
