where can I donate toys?

We're cleaning out our boys' toys and I want to donate a lot of them but neither Salvation Army nor Goodwill are accepting toys any longer.

I am taking some of the more "educational" stuff to DS's former daycare but they won't take LeapPad-type toys, anything electronic, or any Exersaucers, etc.

Do you know somewhere that will accept them? If not, I'm going to create a "Free" posting on CL and ask someone to take everything. Any ideas?
TIA.

My gym has a daycare component and they accept toys in good condition. Just a thought in case you belong to a fitness center.

i've been donating tons of stuff to groupss like big brothers big sisters and Lupus society b/c they have trucks that go around to houses and collect it. it's great-i leave the stuff marked on my porch or driveway and they come collect it. i love not having to drag the stuff in the car and drop it off etc.

You can log on to bbbsli.org (big brother and big sister) and you can schedule a free pick up. JNust let them how many bags! Works great and little work from you! (transporting, etc)

i've donated to BBBS in the past but have had three no shows and it drove dh and i nuts because stuff would be sitting in the driveway getting wet from the rain. Chat Icon in the end, we decided to go with the lupus foundation. much less hassle and reschedulings.

Re: where can I donate toys?

Thanks, everyone, for these tips.

Do you know if BBBS has a drop-off center? The bins/boxes are in the back of my truck from the time I was denied donating them at the Sal Army and Goodwill -- I'd love to just drive the stuff to wherever they are if I could...

Otherwise, I'll schedule a pick up with Lupus or with BBBS.

Savers is a drop off location for BBBS. I donate to them often. They have a Holbrook and Medford location. Not sure where else.
