Advice needed - how to transition child from crib to bed
Hi. My son is 3.5 and we just are trying to get him out of his crib now (I know it's late. No judgement please). We have been preparing his "big boy" room for months. Its the guest room we transitioned, not the room his crib is in We painted it the color blue he wanted, picked out safari animal bedding, etc. tonight weare trying to transition him. It was fun for a half hour and then he said he hated it and was scared. What advice do you have for the bed transition? Are there books you recommend that I can read for this? Thanks so much

My suggestion would maybe bring his crib into his new room to help him get use to it and then transition him to the bed, We didn't change rooms but when we put my son's bed up (a little after 3 years old so no judgement here) it took about 4 months before he wanted to sleep in his bed, started with naps then reading a book in bed and then finally decided to sleep all night. Not sure if will help but my MIL and SIL always said they wont be in a crib forever, not going to college with a crib so dont stress or rush it, it will happen in time.

my son is 3.5 also...I just put him in a toddler bed. I basically just told him the rules and he was fine with it. We also give him a flashlight to keep next to his bed if he gets scared.
