How do I get my dog to not smell like dog.
He smells!  A big Golden Retriever. Any tricks out there? Even when he comes back from being groomed he smells to me. If I have to deal with it I just will. Was just hoping there was something we could try :)

is it maybe his breath? do you brush his teeth? or maybe it's his ears? have you had them checked? if it's just the smell that comes from his body naturally, and it's still there after you wash him, then i don't really have any ideas.

It could be his breath or ears. But if it's when he comes home from grooming - it shouldn't be his ears bc that's usually part of a groom, no?
You could ask your vet. Maybe it's what he's eating.
I know my big dog smells when she's outside too long (but that goes away once she in the house for a while again) or if I give her a bully stick (Those things stink!) and then she stinks after eating it. But when she's groomed, she smells so pretty for like 2 weeks and then the smell of dog sets in.

If there's an ear infection, they might still smell after being cleaned. That has happened to my dog in the past.
