Spinoff to 8th month feeding...

My DD is 8 months-- I've tried a few times giving her the puffs but she seems to gag on them so of course I get freaked and dont want to give them to her-- but just wondering if this is somewhat normal? Does she just need to get use to it? Should I keep giving them to her?

Also what are some other finger/table foods I can give? Someone mentioned steamed carrotts in the last post so I'll try that & I give her bananas also. Thanks

I tried giving my twins girls puff yesterday and they both had the same reaction like they were gagging. I can't help you but would love to see everyone reply.

Just go slow, but keep trying. DS is 9.5 months old and gagged at first too. He generally gags on everything the first few times he tries it....but eventually gets used to the texture.

I broke the puffs into quarters then halves for a few weeks.

Re: Spinoff to 8th month feeding...

DS1 gagged with Puffs, but pretty much gagged with all foods. He would up having sensory issues and at almost 3 still doesn't eat much
That said... doesn't mean anything. Maybe she's just not ready for it and to wait.

DS2 - I started out slow. Especially since I had issues with DS1 feeding I wanted to make sure he was ok. First I crushed half the Puff in my fingers then gave it to him for taste and a different texture. I did that for a few till he got used to it and I saw he liked it. Then I tried small pieces and see how he did with that. After went to halfs and finally a whole one.
This worked great with me and now he's 8 months old and loves Puffs.
Again, at your own pace

DS is just turning 8 months and has been eating those puffs for about a month now. He def gagged the first few times but within a few days was eating them like a pro and now is picking them up himself. He still gags on them once in a while but has learned how to eat them and loves them!
