Re: DDI Success Stories
My son has been going there and alk i have to say is that i am so happy. He is in the YAP program in Ronkonkoma. He has become so verbal. He was potty trained. They have great success with that.he is always in groups now and loves being around other kids. I would be happy to talk to your friend if that is ok?

Re: DDI Success Stories
My son is 3 and also attends there. YAP is an amazing program. My son has grown so much with them and he to was potty trained. For him though there's not enough socialization, I think he's outgrown the small groups and needs to be in a larger group setting. His learning and language are his strong points so we've come to a plateau now and next fall will be enrolling into a new school. My other son who's 7, ASD went to DDI for 3 years and it was wonderful for him. Yap is very intense and very structured with their program. If you feel your child needs direct 1-1 training then it's the best place. Hope that made sense my son is screaming...feel free to fm me :)

Re: DDI Success Stories
What is the difference between a YAP program and an ABA program?

Re: DDI Success Stories
YAP (young autism program) uses the guiding principles of ABA to make progress in the areas of socialization, stereotypical behavior, communication, self care, ADL's life safety skills, etc. for children with special needs. DDI's program is one of the better programs out there (IMO). They have a lot of research and data showing their techniques work.

Re: DDI Success Stories
My 4 year old has been going to YAP in Medford for the past 2 years...when he started he was a quiet little thing in his own world...since DDI YAP, he is now verbal, potty trained, knows his letters, colors, alphabet, numbers, shapes, eating by himself, willing to try new foods...i can go on and on...
It was hard enough just getting his diagnosis...what a difference they have made in my sons life...i could not have done all that eaching myselfwithout their help!
