Did you give out things to the kids? DD keeps bringing home "party favors" from the child who is student of the week. She is student of the week and i dont know what is expected.

The teacher sends out a packet of what is expected of student of the week. I asked if I could send in a special snack or something else for the class and she said not to so we didn't.

The teacher sends out something to let you know what is needed for star of the week. For your child.

But DH went in to read a book and we brought in cookies. I also gave out bubbles to all the students.

some of the parents did a craft with the kids..so then DD brought home what they made. Maybe one or 2 kids sent home a "favor"...I did...but only because I work in the dental field..I went in and read a book about going to the dentist, did a tooth craft, and then gave out toothbrushes and toothpaste that my boss let me take from the office.Chat Icon

Last year DS was student of the week the week before Mother's day. We brought magnetic frames that they drew in and decorated with stickers (flowers, hearts) and took home for their moms.

OK, so I went in played twister (they asked us to play a game) and brought in 3 boxes of girl scouts cookies. What I really wanted to know was if I had to bring in a toy for every child bc it seemed like it was the "norm". It definitely didnt say it in the paper sent home so I am still unsure why dd was getting gifts sent home. I definitely did not see the necessity and I am glad I just bought the cookies and called it a day. It was fun.
