Carb question

I know that I should avoid too many refined and processed foods, like white bread and bagels, but I cannot stand the taste of whole or multi-grain foods.

I can't cut carbs out of my diet completely, so in terms of grains, what are some good carbs to focus on? I know that fruits and potatoes are full of carbs.

Re: Carb question

I'm curious about this too. I love whole grain breads and brown rice. Not to mention fruits!

Re: Carb question

I eat ww pasta, ww breads, ww wraps- sweet potatoes.

I can not live without carbs so I fig this is a better way of eating them.

You can try LOW carb item, i believe they have those options in breads and wraps....and there is a healthy pasta that is better than a ww one.

Some good sources of carbohydrates are brown basmati rice, sweet potatoes, quinoa, squash, buckwheat, popcorn, oatmeal, bulgar, barley, rye, wild rice, beans and lentils.

Re: Carb question

I eat a lot of beans. I put them in my salads and on top of my bunless turkey burgers. I also roast chickpeas until they are crunchy for a snack. Just sprinkle rinsed chickpeas with olive oil and your favorite seasonings, bake at 200 for about 2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes. It may take less time, based on how crunchy you like them.

Re: Carb question

Try the high fiber pasta. The whole wheat stuff is nasty. This tastes the same as regular pasta.
