IKEA cribs?
I read in Baby Bargains that even though they're cheap, IKEA cribs are supposedly a good buy. Baby Bargains rated IKEA cribs an "A" and said that all cribs have to meet certain government safety standards so it doesn't matter how much it costs. DH and I don't want to spend a ton on a crib and we don't want a crib that converts since we plan to have at least one more baby, so we figure we could just get our first child his or her own bed and then reuse the crib. The room we have for the nursery is also pretty small so the compact sizing of the cribs at Ikea works for us.
Anyone else get an Ikea crib, and if so would you recommend it?
Also, we don't want to get the mattress from Ikea, so if we did get the crib, a better mattress from another store should fit, right?

Re: IKEA cribs?
We got both the IKEA crib and mattress and they have been great. Also the mattress is made without certain toxic chemicals which is a big reason why we went for it.

Re: IKEA cribs?
Im planning on getting the IKEA crib as well. I've read all great things about it and yes, a regular mattress will fit. My SIL has an IKEA crib with a Serta mattress that fits like a glove.
