Blood clot in thigh
Has anyone had this, can you tell me what you felt? I am sort of freaking out, yesterday I was walking and realized I had this pain in my left inner thigh, it's only when I walk, it sort of feels like a pulling, although maybe I do feel it sort of when sitting, I don't sit still though, I am always shaking my legs. Anyway I am freaking out thinking it's a blood clot in my thigh, it's not swollen or red or hot, I know that doesn't mean it's not one, but it's all I can think about.
I have anxiety issues and I really have to tell myself, just because you can get something, doesn't mean you will. It's just driving me crazy. It's not unbearable and it doesn't hurt if I put weight on it, only when I take a step.
TIA

Re: Blood clot in thigh
It sounds more like a pulled muscle but if you are concerned that it could be a blood clot you should see your doctor ASAP.

Re: Blood clot in thigh
I had in the calf, it felt like a constant charlie horse. I didn't have heat, but I had a red spot for just a day. I had pain for 3 weeks but I only had the red spot for a day. I did have some tightness in my thigh; if you looked at my thigh it did not look swollen but it felt tight to me.
Dr and ER never found it in my leg, but they did find a few massive ones in my lung with a CT scan. They said maybe it had already moved by the time they went looking for it.
If you have any concerns, goto the doctor. It's not something to be messing with.

Re: Blood clot in thigh
OMG. I am going thru the same exact thing. It is on the back of my right thigh!! It has been 3 weeks now, so I know it isn't a muscle sprain or pull. Keep us posted if you find out any info. GL

Re: Blood clot in thigh
I had one in my calf and it was seriously the worst pain I've ever felt. I had no symptoms other than the pain though, there was some swelling but I already had trauma to the area (hence why I got a clot). I didn't have warmth or redness though, the ER told me I didn't have one based on symptoms but when they did a doppler they found one. It was like a constant charlie horse that never went away and I was in agony.
You should definitely just go to the doctor, even if you think it's just your nerves, go to calm yourself. I've gone a few times since I had it just because I was afraid it grew (which doesn't usually happen when you're on blood thinners). It's so much better to get it checked out than to drive yourself crazy, they'll do a doppler and then you'll have an answer.
Good luck and feel better!

Re: Blood clot in thigh
I had 3 in different parts of my leg and it was the worst pain I have ever had. I could no longer walk. It was also red and warmer than the other leg.
The pain slightly went away if I sat and had it up but not much.

Re: Blood clot in thigh
When I have a blood clot after having a wound, I just clean it and apply some antiseptics. I also apply come cold ice if there are some spots formed.

These posts are about DVTs (deep vein thrombosis) which are blood clots deep in your veins that block blood flow. They are life threatening.
Unfortunately antiseptics and cold ice will do nothing to heal DVT and PE.

Right. These posts are about the life threatening DVT< NOT a hematoma, or bruise.

My DVTs and PEs gave me hematomas - from the Lovenox injections. It's been 1.5 years and those hematomoas are still there.
