Went to the Dr today for a sono and there was no heart beat, I am about 11 weeks but the baby stopped growing around 8 weeks 5 days right after my las apt. My husband and I are numb-
Tomorrow I having a D&C. I don't know what to expect, I am super nervous about going under anesthesia.

Re: Numb
I posted on the pregnancy board, but wanted to respond here too...
I am so sorry that you are going through this. I was in your position 3 weeks ago and it was the worst time of my life... No one really "gets it" unless they experience it (I know I was guilty of this...). I am still in a sensitive state, but I can say that it gets better and better every day.
I was super nervous about the D&C too, especially since I had never been put under before. The procedure was very quick and you should only have spotting and cramping after it.
Good luck tomorrow... I'll be thinking of you.

Re: Numb
I am so sorry for your loss, Its truly heart breaking to experience a loss. I have had two losses and two d&c's. To be honest the procedure and recovery are okay, its the emotional part of it that is the hardest.
This is a great board so please come on here to vent and ask advice.
Lots of luck tomorrow, I will be thinking of you

Re: Numb
I just want to say again how sorry I am. I had a miscarriage last March. I also found out at 11 weeks. It is one of the hardest things a woman will ever go through and I hate that it happened to all of us.

Re: Numb
I am so sorry that you are going through this. I can totally understand because I went through the same thing in November. I was 10wks and I also had never been under anesthesia before. The procedure was the easy part. It's the emotional part that's tough. I'm still having a hard time now and it's been 6 months. You just have to take one day at a time.

Re: Numb
So sorry you have to go through this.
I had a D&C earlier this year and just had another miscarriage this week so know what you're going through...
My advice with the D&C is find out how much it's going to cost at the hospital vs. at an office/clinic because you don't want to be shocked when you get the bill in a few weeks.
Hospitals charge ALOT more and if your insurance provider might not cover everything so you're burden with some of the cost.
Also, getting local vs. full anesthesia is going to be a factor in the cost.

Re: Numb
I'm so sorry for your loss...I had 2 MC's and D&C's for both back in 2009. Other then the emotional side, it's a pretty easy procedure. You'll wake up groggy and crampy. The cramps for me were like period cramps and didn't last for more then a few day. I also had bleeding for about a week.
