Waking up middle of night starving?
A few times now I have woken up to pee around 3-4am and couldn't go back to sleep for over an hour because I'm STARVING. I mean stomach grumbling, slightly painful because I am so hungry. So far I've suppressed the hunger and have gotten back to sleep after an hour and a half or so, but I'm wondering --
1. Is this normal? 2. Should I eat when I wake up starving?

Waking up middle of night starving?
I've had this happen too! I never have gotten up to eat though and have felt it the next morning, those are normally the days that I am the most nauseous. I've learned that for me, it just means I'm not eating a big enough dinner, so I've been consciously trying to eat a little bit more during dinner and that seems to help. I have also thought about leaving some pretzels on my night stand, so I can munch on a few if I wake up hungry, but I just can't bring myself to eat at 3am. I prefer the bigger dinner to a 3am snack!

Waking up middle of night starving?
Yes and yes.
Saltines on the nightstand might help. Or prep a huge sandwich the night before and run out and eat it when you feel the hunger. Pregnancy is not a time to be stingy to your body. At least that's IMHO.

Waking up middle of night starving?
Yes! This has happened to me a couple of times. If I really can't fall back asleep I'll get up and have a small snack.

If I'm not a big yogurt person do you think one of those small individual puddings is ok?

Re: Waking up middle of night starving?
I ate a small bowl of cereal because if I didn't I was so lightheaded and nauseous in the morning.

Re: Waking up middle of night starving?
Yes, this was happening to me in the first tri - not as much anymore. I would eat something if I was that hungry.
In my opinion, I am not denying myself food when I am hungry or stomach is growling. I think that is your body's way of telling you that you need to eat.
I only gained 1 pound during my first tri and I ate like a pig, so I think your metabolism speeds up which makes sense as to why you are so hungry.
Now the bowls of ice cream just because, that is where I should be cutting back but never when I am actually hungry. JMO
