Unexplained fever for a few days?
My DD has had a fever since Friday. It is now a low-grade fever, but she has no other symptoms.
The Dr. said to bring her back in on Friday of she still has one. Has anyone ever experienced this?
Thanks

Could be teething if it's a low grade fever. Not sure how old your LO is, but my son had that for 2 days (15 months old) and it was all teething related. My ped said as long as the fever doesn't go up to 101 it's most likely that at this age.

Re: Unexplained fever for a few days?
MY DD is 22 months old and the ped said at her age she shouldn't be getting fevers from teeth anymore.
She had 102-103 temp over the weekend.
So weird!

Watch for rashes, sores, etc. Many childrens viruses start with a fever where some sort of rashe, sores, etc. Break out afterwards

Re: Unexplained fever for a few days?
My DS who is also 22 months had the same thing last week.
He had fever up and down for 3 days - his temperature would go from 99 to 104 at one point
He was up and down in between those numbers all 3 days. I brought him to the Ped who said he had no other symptoms i.e sore throat, ear infection etc., that it was most likely a viral infection and it would have to run its course.
I just kept him on a Motrin and Acetaminophen run to keep him comfortable.

Yes roseola, coxsackie, etc - those summer virus start as fevers and can last 2-7 days and rashes and stuff break out after. We are in coxsackie hell in my house right now. My son had fever for 2 days with no other signs and the dr could barely see the 3 little blisters he had on the back of his tonsils. Also twice this school year my son had a fever virus - last 4 days of fever - no other signs. High at first and they hung low the last 2 days.
