Anyone have experience with COLIC/GAS?
My DD is 5.5 weeks right now. She started getting gassy and having digestive issues around 2 weeks old. She struggles every time she tries going to the bathroom and after every feeding.
The only suggestion the doctor gave us was burp more often, use gas drops and have her sleeping upright. So we burp her, but even after she burps, poops and spits up- her stomach still has gas and she cries. The gas drops seem to do nothing, they provide no relief. And she sleeps well in her car seat, so she's been in that and will remain in that for awhile I am guessing.
The past 3 weeks have been hell. Watching her scream and turn red in pain is scary and upsetting. How long does this last? When does it get better?

Re: Anyone have experience with COLIC/GAS?
I was looking into it this morning because my dd has been having trouble passing gas. Breaks my heart to see her struggle and get all red.
I came across Colic Calm online. I might head out later to pick it up so I can give it a go.

gas drops didnt work for lo either! Colic calm does though!
They sell it at CVS. about $20 but worth it.
I'd give her the dosage, pump her legs and bicycle them and also put her on her belly for tummy time. that would help her burp and pass gass.

Re: Anyone have experience with COLIC/GAS?
Please try Mommy Bliss Gripe Water. Even I use it sometimes! My son has occassional gas depending on what I eat but when I give him those, he has relief right away. Try massaging her belly and bend her legs to her tummy to help her squeeze out her gas. Are you FF or BF? It'll probably last until she is about 8 weeks...their digestive system is still so immature and can't handle all the formula.
Also, try putting on her tummy or lay her on your tummy to sleep. Or try laying her on her left side...they get relief that way as well...
Hang in there!

Anyone have experience with COLIC/GAS?
well i think it depends whether its colic or gas. my DD had gas issues. she would squirm a lot and look uncomfy but she wasn't at all screaming and crying for long periods of time (that sounds like colic). she grew out of the gas issues by 3m. i know thats when colic babies seem to get better too. for us we tried a few different things and the biggest change was dr. Brown's bottles, they helped a ton with the gas. the drops didnt do much for us nor did a change in formula (she was half FF half BF).

Re: Anyone have experience with COLIC/GAS?
My DS had colic, horrible gas, acid reflux, and a milk allergy. The best advice I can offer is to make sure there is not something else like a milk allergy or acid reflux going on. We made several trips to the pediatrican for all the crying, pain, squirming, arching, straining, etc. We were told colic over and over. I finally took him to a gastro specialist because I couldnt watch him be in that much pain. Turns out there was blood in his stool, even though I could barely see it, which most likely means a milk allergy. We switched to Ellecare, an Rx formula, and everything changed!
Good luck! I know its really hard to go through, hang in there

I agree about making sure there isn't something else going on like a milk protein allergy and/or reflux.

Re: Anyone have experience with COLIC/GAS?
I'm going through this now also. I highly recommend probiotics for infants. I used probiotics with my older DS and it completely fixed his stomach issues. My one twin has had bad gas and my other twin has had trouble gaining weight. Probiotics helps both those issues. I started them on it this week and already noticed a difference. Research probiotics for infants- its amazing what this stuff cn do!
I also got my gassy boy the happi tummy wrap on amazon which has worked well for naps and bedtime. I also got hylands colic tablets which help when he's really hysterical and in pain.
