Should this bother me? Daycare related
Ok so my daughter is 6 months old and goes to a tutor time by my house. I am happy with them and feel like they really care about her.
So here's the question: yesterday I noticed that her nails were getting a little long and needed to be cut. Tonight I gave her bath and got the nail clippers to cut them. When I looked, her nails had obviously been cut. They were very short. Very short! Now I was never asked if this was ok and I don't know how they clean the clippers. Should this bother me? I'm not really sure.... Thanks ladies!!!

I would be bothered enough to ask about it, but I wouldn't e enraged or anything. I would just ask them not to in the future.

Re: Should this bother me? Daycare related
I would be very bothered. Nail clippers are a personal item and should not be shared. I would hope they at least used a file but even then I still wouldn't like it. I would ask them about it and tell them not to touch her nails again.

Should this bother me? Daycare related
I am on the fence. On the one hand I see the hygiene concern but on the other I think the fact that her caretaker took the time to sit and cut her nails shows a level of care that I like. I mean cutting my sons nail is a PITA lol

Re: Should this bother me? Daycare related
I'm surprised they cut her nails. My son goes to Tutor Time and I once put in his bin a nail clipper to use just incase they saw he had a long nail and needed to cut. When i went to pick him up that day they actually gave me back the clipper and said they are not allowed to cut their nails........

I think you should say something because you are clearly concerned, not because you are angry. If it were me, I'd want to know what they used to cut the nails, if it was clippers, I'd like to know they are cleaned and sterile. I'd probably thank them for noticing and taking the time to clip them for everyones sake, and then ask the things I mentioned above. You don't have to approach them negatively, just simply asking their methods - I think that's totally acceptable.

Thata odd. My TT told me they are not allowed to cut her nails. Maybe they filed them?

Re: Should this bother me? Daycare related
Thanks for all your help ladies!
My husband said something to them this morning at drop off (nicely) - along the lines of, "we would just prefer to do it"
