what age was DC completely off bottles? Which sippy for DC's who are resisting cups?

DS is almost 14 months. He will not drink more than a few sips from any cup regardless of what's in it... Milk, juice, water. I'm starting a collection of cups like I did with DS#1.

May he still be too young to be off bottles? Will his resistance only get worse the older he gets? Maybe better to cut him off bottles now and keep at it with one type of sippy into he takes to it?

Any advice appreciated. DS#1 was off bottles by 15 months but he would only drink juice out of cup and it was a struggle to get him to drink milk.

Have you tried straw cups? DD uses the Playtex ones. As soon as she was off formula I got rid of the bottles. She resisted for a bit but finally started drinking after a day or 2.

Just take the bottles away and don;t give in. If he's thirsty enough he will drink

both kids were off the bottle by a year and a few days.
we started the straw cups at 10 months old with DS when i started to take away the bottles.
DD was not having it, so right after she turned 1 (a few days later) i took away all her bottles and trashed them. never looked back and she took to a straw cup or sippy with no problems.
yes their milk intake decreased, but as long as they were getting some sort of dairy (which was little to none) the dr was happy.

dairy & milk is NOT necessary in any child. their multi vitamins has what they need.

DS is 16 months and still gets a bedtime bottle. We need to start weaning him off of that. During the day he gets sippys only, he loves the Playtex straw cup and the munchkin cups.

I switched both of my kids off of bottles and onto sippys a few days after their first birthdays. All I remember reading about it was the longer you wait the harder it will get to have them make the switch. I would get a few different kinds of sippy cups and see which ones they prefer. Once they are able to drink from one of them, get a couple of them and then just give them the sippy cups. My kids preferred the platex ones that almost look like an adult thermos.

My oldest dropped his bottle cold turkey at 11.5 months. My youngest was stubborn & did not drop it until close to 2. He loves the straw cup

DS was off at 14 months. he was already drinking from straw cups so i just tossed the bottles one day.
he started with this cup, its playtex


and now he uses these, tommee tippee


he also uses the tommee tippee water bottle ones for water or juice
