I really don't feel like doing the hospital tour. Can I just go to the hospital and see where it is? I just wanna know where to go when the time comes. Also, did you fill out any insurance paperwork withe hospital ahead of time or anything like that?

I didn't tour the hospital at all and we filled out paperwork the day of my scheduled csection. This was six months ago.

We did the tour but I don't think it really benefitted me in any way. It was exciting at the time, but you'll be fine without it.
I did pre-register, and I think it saved me some time, but I'm not sure.

I did the tour and definitely enjoyed it. I don't think we were told anything that was vital for you to know ahead of time though.
They just gave me the paperwork there, but I still have to fill it out and mail it in. I don't know if that is saving me any time.
They did say it is important to go right to labor and delivery, not emergency, when checking in.

So would I just go to the main entrance and they will send me up there? If I remember correctly emergency is on the opposite side of the hospital...

We did the tour & it was helpful from a recovery standpoint. I had a C Section, so the first half of the tour did not apply to me.
When you walk to the front desk (in front of Starbucks) they will send you to the right. L & D has its own elevator & security desk check point before you're let up.

If you go through the main lobby it's to the right. There will be signs. You will have to stop at the security desk to be buzzed in. I did the paperwork when I got there. I was induced.

My tip, use the Valet, it's only 6$ for the whole day VS 2$ an hour in the garage. We didn't do the tour, but we did the sibling class, so we had an idea where to go, and the layout.
