Coloring hair

I know this has been asked before but I just found I'm pregnant and want to know opinions on coloring hair. I'm about 4 weeks along and have more gray than I can deal with. Is it safe to go for a single process?

I waited until I had almost completed my second trimester before I put any chemicals in my hair.

Re: Coloring hair

They say it is okay but I wait until after the 1st trimester. I found this little stick that you can use almost like a crayon to cover greys. It is by Rusk.

I waited and I am pretty lax about most things... I would wait until after the first trimester.

Re: Coloring hair

After my dr confirmed pregnancy I got a folder filled with different information. They said hair color was ok but other treatments were not. Like perms and keratin. I colored my hair right before finding out and again at 11wks. I pretty much kept up with it throughout and DD was born perfect. I also don't believe you share a blood stream until 6 weeks.

Re: Coloring hair

I would get it done now and not again until 2nd trimester. Many people dont even know they are pregnant at 4 weeks. I had mine done right before I took a pregnancy test.

I get my hair highlighted I had it done at 8 weeks and will probably have it done another 3 times before the end of my pregnancy. The doc said it was okay, but I think it may me a little different than a single process bc it doesn't hit your scalp.

highlights are fine...if you have that many grays, try doing those instead of coloring all of your hair for now.
If your dead set on getting it done, i would wait until after the first trimester is over, although, if it was me, i would wait until well past the middle of the second trimester
