Help! 10 month old not sleeping through the night
My DS started sleeping through the night at 13 weeks. However, the past week he has been waking up anywhere from 1-3 am hysterical crying. Not just whimpers but bawling. He is also standing in his crib when he does this. Standing in his crib is something new that he has been doing the past two weeks. He is usually wet, so I change him.... but do I then put him back in the crib and let him cry? Do I rock him back to sleep? I wake up at 5 am then drive an hour to work- as for everyone, sleep is really important for me.
Any tips/advice/words of wisdom?? Thank you so much for the help!

Re: Help! 10 month old not sleeping through the night
i just posted this a few weeks ago.... i use to go in there and rub her back till she fell back to sleep.. but now i dont go in at all and let her cry and she usually sits back down and goes to sleep... its so sad at first, but i think they do it because they want us and they dont want to be alone... so if you keep going in there they get use to that! my husband has brought her into bed! so i think she crys because she wants to be in bed with us! i guess there at the age where they dont want to be alone and they understand!! i have been putting her in the crib awake and telling her its time to go to sleep, and i walk out and she crys for a little but then she goes to sleep!!! i hate it but i dont want her to get use to our bed!! i watch her in the monitor and she crys more if she sees us... so after you leave the room they cry but then she stops ...

Help! 10 month old not sleeping through the night
Um.. no advice here but I have the same issue word for word. The last couple of nights though DD has changed the 2am wake up to waking up about an hour or so after we put her to sleep -- which is a little ibetter-- but I have been doing the whole rock back to sleep thing -- during the 2am wake ups DH (mostly) and I would sometimes bring her back to our bed too if she didnt go back to sleep earlier... such a bad precedent to set if you dont want to start co sleeping but we needed to get sleep and CIO is too difficult for us to do (DH does not agree with it -- I do in theory but need the support from DH not to cave).Anyway so no advice just hugs and wanting to let you know I feel your pain!

Help! 10 month old not sleeping through the night
My guess is if he is screaming then he might be teething or something.
When my DS wakes in the middle of the night his cries are different. If it is just cause he woke up then it is a calmer scream. When he was teething it was a bloddy murder kind of scream

Re: Help! 10 month old not sleeping through the night
thank you all for writing back. This isn't his normal "crys" that he is awake. It is tears and screaming. He used to once in a while cry out in his sleep and but still be laying in his crib and put himself back to sleep. But now it is different... he could be teething again, I've noticed more drool.
When is someone going to invent an app that will read babies cries?!?!
Thanks again!
