First time hosting Thanksgiving - please critique menu
Been married 5+ yrs but MIL is finally letting someone else have the holiday this year -- supernervous -- please be honest and tell me what I'm forgetting/missing:
TIA!!
12 adults, two toddlers, one infant for dinner
plus 4 adults for dessert (16 total)
Apps
Cheese & Crackers (cheeseball)
Vegetables/Crudite
Spinach Dip with Crackers & Veggies
Hummus with above
Drinks
Beer, Wine, Soda
Juice and Seltzer
Water
Making hot apple cider
Turkey
Sausage and Sage Stuffing

It looks perfect! The only thing *I* might change (and that's based on my family preferences) is to also include a meatless stuffing, but you obviously know your family best, just something to think about

Everything looks great, might be a little overload on the desserts but otherwise it looks fine.

Agree - I think your menu looks great! I just know from experience of hosting holidays that by the time people get to dessert, they are stuffed. I always tend to overdo it with desserts, because I like to bake, and that's something that people often bring. So I definitely wouldn't stress about making the raspberry crumb bars.
Also, because it takes me awhile to clear the table and get the kitchen under control on Thanksgiving, I usually put out some fruits (like clementines or grapes), nuts, chocolates for people to pick on in between dinner and dessert. Totally not a must-do, but it makes me feel less rushed and is a good transition, esp. if people are still lingering at the table over a glass of wine.

You might consider cutting back on dessert. It sounds like a lot for 16 people. Also, you may want to consider serving a lighter veggie dish like steamed green beans with garlic and oil.

Thanks so much! I won't worry about the raspberry crumb bars, and I forgot to include the roasted carrots, turnips, and parsnip. I also plan on making some glazed walnuts and/or chex mix for a snack in our family room/bar area for the time between dinner and dessert.
Now I just need to clean my house!!

Don't forgot a master timing list to make sure you can coordinate all the dishes in your oven. That's key to making sure everything comes out hot at the same time with so many side dishes!

I'm not sure what corn pudding is but we like just regular corn in our family but you know your guests best.
The other thing is - and this, again, is a family favorite for us but may not be for you - creamed cauliflower. Or even sauteed cauliflower.
