Low progesterone/low hcg
Last month I miscarried (chem. pregnancy) and the new OB said don't worry try again and have fun even when I said that I have low temps and a short luteal phase of 9-10 days. He said again not to worry. I mentioned that I felt progesterone was low and he disregarded every one of my concerns. Here I am pregnant again just a few weeks later. I saw my rheumatologist this past Tuesday (7dpo) and I begged him to test my progesterone levels along with other tests. I found out on 8dpo that my progesterone was 4. No wonder why I had problems last month. I also took an hpt and got a faint positive line. I immediately tried calling the new Ob office and even had the progesterone test faxed to them and they couldn't see me and basically in a nut shell told me I need to see a fertility specialist! What!? I was pissed. I called my old Ob office and they said they can't get me in til next week. I took myself to the ER and they prescribed me crinone 8% to take at night before bed. The gel suppositories. I am now 10dpo and wondering how well the progesterone works. I also have an hcg level of 6 as of 8dpo. I need to get retested. Anyone start crinone at 8dpo and have an hcg level of 6 and end up not miscarrying? I am so worried and I need to know if I should find a new Ob and if I should seek out an endocrinologist too. I can't believe these doctors were going to risk me miscarrying through the holiday weekend. I am not bleeding or anything but maybe this crinone is helping. It's all I think about and I am most definitely nervous. It's so scary. :(

Re: Low progesterone/low hcg
You probably won't find anyone who has had their beta tested at 8dpo because that's REALLY early .... Most people don't test yet at that point and REs don't tell you to get a beta checked till AT LEAST 13dpo.... but regardless.. you should def be finding another OB to work with. This one just sounds completely dismissive. Better to find that out EARLY in the game and get to a place who is more willing to work with you.
Good luck with your levels, you should def recheck your levels in a few days!

8dpo is super early! The implantation process is still taking place. I agree with Pennycat about an RE even testing your hcg at this stage they won't do it. I am 7dpo or 2dp5dt no way is it time for me to POAS. Just continue the crinone and test more like 12dpo!

For sure 8dpo is super early. I just figured I could get help before I miscarry. I was getting some cramps like the month before when I miscarried so I was worried. I'm really hoping the crinone is working. I'm going to see if I can find a new Ob that can take me early next week. I suppose I should wait til I look for a endocrinologist. Thanks ladies for your positive replies! It's a tough road!

Re: Low progesterone/low hcg
did you confirm that your hcg went back down to 0 from last month's chemical? i've had my hcg tested early (although not that early) and it's quite low at that point- definitely not abnormal though. If you think about it doubling every two days, it may not be such a bad number, plus it could jump really high in the next few days. You'll need to see if it rises. Definitely seek out a new obgyn monday- if it were me, i'd keep calling new docs until somoene could accomodate me this week to retest the hcg and follow up with the proper protocol. GL
