Pregnancy and telling work...
This is my second pregnancy. I wasn't working during my first so I didn't have to inform anyone at a job. This time, of course, I do.
How did you go about informing a boss/HR about it?

I told my manager after a 1:1 meeting and then told the head of my group privately. I sent my HR rep an email and then met with her a while later to get the paperwork from her that I'll need to hand in before I go out.
People make a big deal out of telling their work, but for me it really wasn't a big deal. I waited until I was out of my first trimester and felt comfortable "going public" with my news.

I agree, hr is prepared to handle these things. My only suggestion is that you make hr one of the first that you do tell. They may not appreciate if they hear everyone knows before you approached them.
