I started a root canal at the end of October, we attempted to finish it about a month later (he only just got up and running after Sandy)... he couldnt finish it without the tooth next to it being pulled... so i went in for that... i am going to call to finish the root canal after the new year.

The pain of my teeth was 1000000x worse than sitting in the dentist or oral surgeons chair... lol

I had a root canal and a couple of fillings done while PG. They can numb you, its without epinephrine (spelling) traditional novicane is a no-no, but the dentist will know that. Just make sure you tell them everytime you go in that you're PG just to be sure you're getting the right thing. (That's what I did, and not because I didn't trust the dentist, more because i am paranoid like that!!)

i have no idea what they used but there are a few local anesthetics they can use... just let them know you're pregnant.

Re: Dentist
It is actually highly recommended that you see a dentist while you pregnant. With my first pregnancy, I went and told the hygenist that I'm very pukey and gaggy. I was in and out of that chair in 5 mins.

You CAN have xrays if its necessary, just asked to be double vested. I had to have xrays because of the root canal, there's no way around it.

Re: Dentist
I went for a cleaning when I was 10 weeks and I have another one in January (I will be around 37 weeks). My dentist says that it is highly recommended that pg women get there teeth checked. I was going to postpone my cleaning out of laziness but once the baby comes I may not have time
