Ovarian Cysts
3 months ago, my gyno saw a cyst during my sonogram on my ovary. I was asked to come back after three cycles to see if it goes away.
I went back, and the cyst did not go away but got bigger. I was told now to come back in two cycles.
I asked the dr what happens if it still there after 2 months? He said then he would either keep watching it or put me on birth control.
I don't want to be on birth control. My mother took hormone replacements during menopause and developed a blood clot. I don't believe in man made hormones and I just don't want to be on them.
Eventually if the cyst gets bigger, he might have to test it for other reasons.
Anyone have something similiar? Should I get a second opinion? I think I should but I don't know if this is routine. I am so nervous about this.

Re: Ovarian Cysts
It is routine to "Watch" a cyst and sometimes they try birth control to shrink it. Only other option is to have it surgically removed.
I know 2 people who had cysts removed and 1 person, the cyst burst and wrecked her ovary. That's why they watch it. Also, there is also always the small chance it's not just a cyst... that's why they continue to watch it and try to treat it.
Don't worry. Your Dr. is doing exactly what they should do

Re: Ovarian Cysts
If you are opposed to bcp then try something natural like castor oil packs (look it up on google for info & YouTube for video demos). Also, you can try acupuncture. I used both of these for my ovarian cysts & it helped.
