What are your "what if" thoughts/fears?
Still not sleeping well, so I have been up since 5am thinking about random crap.
My fave "what if i go to pee and my water breaks mid-pee and I don't realize it" What do I do, is it dangerous, how long do I have...etc. Silly, I know but that is what lack of sleep is doung to me.
Anyone have random "what if" thoughts?

Re: What are your "what if" thoughts/fears?
Not necessarily "what ifs", but I have the "Holy crap, I'm going to be responsible for another human being" thoughts all the time.
I would think if your water breaks, there will be other signs that you're in labor and you'll figure it out.
Good luck getting some . I've been waking at 3am every day for the past few weeks and not able to get back to sleep until 45 minutes before the alarm goes off. I'm exhausted!

When my water broke I really just thought I peed my pants. It was in the middle of the night and I called my DH to come in the bathroom. I was siting on the bowl crying. I told him I either peed my pants or my water broke. I sat there for a few minutes and decided to call the dr (still from the bowl). And told him I either peed or my water broke. He laughed at me and told me to head to the hospital.
Don't worry nothing is silly. We laugh about it still a year later.

I have one. "what if something is wrong and I don't know about it" . Is that irrational? I haven't quite completed the first trimester, but I am not even sure my fear will be lifted when I do.

Re: What are your "what if" thoughts/fears?
After 2 losses, my "what if" list is rather long! I'm kinda of the mindset of "what will be, will be" and taking this pregnancy day by day....so I'm really trying not to get ahead of myself! But I'm 12 weeks today so hopefully the "what if" list in my head decreases with every passing day

This is mine too Then it's what if my water breaks when I'm out in public alone or even in my office...I don't work with many moms and can't picture my boss handling it well lol. He will probably panic more than me!

This is pregnancy #5 but baby #1 so I am right there with you!!! I only have one "what if" I'm really fearful of. Maybe it's because this still feels so surreal but nothing else scares me. Birth? Csection? I've been afraid of not getting that opportunity for so many years.... It just doesn't seem scary to me anymore, compared to the alternative.

That's not irrational at all. It was my reality 2 1/2 years ago. Things happen. What I find helpful to focus on is that problems are RARE and most babies come into this world perfectly healthy. Chances are, you will be one of those lucky ones, so sleep tight unless you have a reason not to!

exactly!! Normal pregnancy what if's would be very welcome right now! I've went through delivery, so I am not worried about that (hell even when I had the epidural I didn't even flinch so I guess I can handle whatever they throw at me in the delivery room!). I think my only what if right now is what if I'm being too optimistic and I will be let down. The fact I have even went on to my old baby registry and updated it has me thinking maybe I'm being overly confident about this, but then I find myself thinking why SHOULDN'T I enjoy these little things until I have a reason to think otherwise!?

Clearly anything can happen at the blink of an eye. I plan on enjoying every second of this and hope like no other that I get to take him home this time.

I have these same fears, but after wanting this for so long and going through what I/we went through, I am just trying to stay positive and enjoy and plan that she will come into the world healthy. I hope and continue to pray for you/everyone will take home your perfect, healthy little ones.

OBGYNs must get this call a lot. I had the same convo with my doc.

Re: What are your "what if" thoughts/fears?
Since I am so close to the end my biggest "what if" is "what if" I don't make it to the hospital? My hospital is an hour away in good weather/traffic conditions so if it is rush hour or snowing (or rush hour AND snowing) I am just afraid there is NO way I'm getting there.
Also I'm petrified that my water will break on the LIRR on the way home from work on the ONE day I have to go into the city.
Or that my water won't break and I'll have no idea that I'm in labor.

Since I am having twins I am really worried that they are going to come early and end up in the NICU for a long period of time. Please babies stay in until July!

Re: What are your "what if" thoughts/fears?
I am only six weeks and all I think is the whole "I am going to be responsible for another person"...which is usually followed by "holy crap!" Then I keep reminding myself that women have been doing this for thousands of years, and we will figure things out.
