Big weight gain in 5 weeks

Did anyone have this and due to water retention?? My dr is shocked how much I gained bc my stomach is still so small. She thinks it is water retention. I think so too bc when I try to knell my knees feel so swollen like they r going to burst if I don't stand. Did anyone have this and how do you make it go away?? They said big weight gain and water retention is concern for preeclampsia which I don't want.
TIA

I gained 8 lbs in 4 weeks once this pregnancy Dr just said to watch it . With DD I gained 10 lbs a month 4 months in a row. I'd just watch what you're doing eating wise (salt etc) and increase your water intake ! Hth

Big weight gain in 5 weeks

I think when it comes to weigh gain and water retention it happens at different times for everyone. My water retention weight gain hit these last five weeks. Doctor just told me to increase water intake and try to avoid salty foods.

Yes towards the end with my twins I was gaining 5lbs every couple of days. I wound up having pre eclampsia. The swelling was insane. Make sure they keep an eye on your bp.
