Penne ala Vodka Question
I feel like I've seen this question asked before and I've never paid attention to the answer and now I'm asking again!
I plan on making penne ala vodka for my daughters birthday party next weekend. Her party is at noon and I don't really want to spend my morning making vodka sauce...and I also want to avoiding "leaving" the party to make the pasta.
How can I make this ahead? I know if I mix the sauce with the pasta and then heat it up, it will be dried out especially sitting above a sterno. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Re: Penne ala Vodka Question
My aunt always makes her sauce ahead and then refrigerates it...prior to serving, she boils the pasta, heats the sauce gently, and mixes them just before serving.

Re: Penne ala Vodka Question
I have made this beforehand and heated on sternos. Just undercook pasta a tad and save plenty of sauce to add while reheating.

Exactly what I do.
I make it day before - mix the sauce with the pasta.
Reserve extra sauce and add it before reheating.
