8 month old refusing solids all of a sudden
Dd has been eating solids since 4 months and for the past month or so she's been doing really well with them, eating three good sized meals a day, opening her mouth for the spoon, and seemed to enjoy both fruits and veggies. Then yesterday she refused all her meals. And she's still doing it today. She clamps her mouth shut and turns her head away. I tried several different types of fruits/veggies and flavors she usually likes, but she just won't take it. She's still nursing so at least I know she's getting something. I called her doctors office and was told this could be normal for up to as much as three days. That it could be due to teething. She just had some teeth break thru recently, so maybe it's that? I just worry that she's starving! Did anyone else go through anything like this?
Eta: she also has been really fighting being put in her high chair so I thought maybe it was that, so I tried her portable booster seat and she didn't seem to mind being put in it but she still wouldn't eat. I'm out of ideas!

Are you still giving her purees? I ask because DD did the same thing and I started to give her more solid foods and she was ok eating them. She was just sick of the purees I guess.

DS went through a few days here and there where he wouldn't really eat. I just made sure he had plenty of formula and kept trying. For DS it was almost always teeth related.

I remember at that age DS was getting his top teeth so not good with food or sleeping. Most likely teething related. As long as she's drinking she can get all her nutrients from there. Is she acting fine otherwise? As long as she isn't sick then I wouldn't worry too much. THey all go through phases.

Thanks for the responses! She did just get her top teeth and they're still growing in so it could be that. Also, she is still getting purées so maybe she is sick of them. I tried giving her puffs for the first time yesterday just to see if she would eat them and she did willingly open her mouth and take them.

DD did the same at 8 months. I think for her it was a combo of getting 5 new teeth and being a bit overwhelmed by the introduction of finger foods. My best bets during that time were adding pastina into her purees, letting her eat straight from a pouch, and letting her feed herself with a fork (usually a banana and I would put it on the fork for her of course). She also would usually take plain oatmeal so I would give her that at the end of most meals. It lasted a few weeks but it was very frustrating at the time.

My DS did this exact same thing. I started giving more solids and it seemed to help.
