Re: Recommendations for places to stay in Lake George Please
i stayed in the Georgian two years ago, I felt it was a little run down and dingy. Last year we stayed at Marine Village Resort-it is like a motel but the room was clean, it was right on the lake and it was right on Canada street. Some people don't like that but we wanted to be right on Canada Street so we could walk to dinner and have a drink or two without having to worry about which one of us was going to drive. We never get to have a drink together when we go out!

The Holiday Inn looks great and has good reviews. Very family friendly, and the family suites look nice.

We stay outside of LG on Trout Lake, it's like 10 minutes outside of town, amazing little place totally like camping but so private and peaceful. Twin Pines Resort

Re: Recommendations for places to stay in Lake George Please
Holiday Inn if you don't want to be on the lake. We're getting married in LG and this is the hotel we blocked for our guests. It's a quick walk right into town, the hotel is really new, great bar, pool, etc. I highly recommend it.
If you want to be on the water or close to it, Fort William Henry (but only in the actual hotel, not the motel part) or the Cresthaven Lodges.
To be honest, most of the hotels down on the water in the village are going to be run down and gross. They're cheap places that haven't been updated in a long time. Of all of them, The Sundowner is very cute and the owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Re: Recommendations for places to stay in Lake George Please
My sister stayed at the Sagamore and raves about it all the time. She keeps saying how she wants to go back and that it is the only place she will ever stay in Lake George.

We stayed at the Twin Birches last year. We loved it. Had two pools, small arcade and tons of outdoor things for kids. It was not on the lake but they have a small dock across the street to go swimming in the lake.
