9-10 month old meals
DS was 17lbs 14oz at his 9month appt. He is not a big eater or formula drinker. He has now dropped his noon bottle so he is down to only 3 bottles drinking about 18oz per day I want him drinking more but he smacks the bottle away.
I am trying to make up for it with his meals and now he is refusing to eat his cereal and pureed fruit for breakfast!! He's killing me. He seems to prefer to feed himself. This morning I gave him a waffle, he ate almost 1/2 and a handful of cheerios. But I dont know how much he should be eating for a meal.
Can anyone help? He's low in the weight percentiles and I would like him to gain not lose!!
Can you share what your 9-10 month old eats at a meal?

Re: 9-10 month old meals
At that age almost nothing. 1/4 cup cereal at dinner and maybe a 4oz container of baby food in the am/afternoon if we were lucky. Lots of cheerios. My DS has also never been a big drinker or eater. He is 12 months now and barely taking 2 bottles during the day (4oz each). Quick am/pm BFing session but I'm almost dried up at this point. He does eat a bit more now that he can feed himself. He HATES to be fed (or given a bottle, everything has to be done himself)

I used to just give DS a bunch and if he ate it all I would give more. Even now at 18m I still do the same.

9-10 month old meals
DD can eat a ton one day and very little the next. I give her food in courses to try to get her to eat more and a variety.
Breakfast is usually half a banana then a waffle or pancake (she usually eats half, sometimes more sometimes less). I also give her a scrambled egg with cheese mixed in some days.
She'll have a snack of cheerios or half a kashi cereal bar.
Lunch is usually a yogurt or yogurt and fruit cup. If we're home I'll also give her some BH ham if we have it.
After her nap she has another snack. Maybe yogurt melts or goldfish. Lately she's not really into it at all.
Dinner is really hit or miss. I give her meat first and do that before DH and I sit down bc she tends to eat more that way. If she sees us with rice or pasta she'll refuse the meat and want that. I get her to eat as much of that as she will, then I give her a sippy of milk. Then I'll give her veggies or a starch, whichever she's less likely to eat. I save her favorites for last. This seems to get the most into her.
I wouldn't sweat it too much. As he gets used to more foods he'll probably start eating more.

dd is 9 months--we really just started doing some table food for her. also, she is not a good drinker. down to 3 bottles a day as well, i can usually get her to drink about 20 oz during the day, breakfast she is still getting puree fruit with cereal. lunch is usually another jar of puree but then i will give her puffs, cut up pieces of fruit, pastina, cheerios, baby mum mums with it dinner is also another jar, and i will cut up a little of what we are eating as well. she likes to feed herself. honestly i feel like i'm not feeding her enough. she has her well visit at the end of the month so i'm going to ask then

I notice that if I let my DS feed himself that he will eat more than of I try to feed him. That being said, he has never really been I to the purees. He has been doing table foods exclusively some time now. He's 10 months.
