anyone travel w/frozen milk?
Im going to Florida on Monday. I would love to bring some of my frozen bm...anyone try to bring some on the plane? I know if I bring a bottle with milk in it they do a little test with a strip but how do they test frozen milk if they cant open the bag?

I'd find out first they may not let you take that on a plane for several reasons, transporting food, and the size of the container. ask the airlines what you want to do and they'll tell you how ,if its possible.

Re: anyone travel w/frozen milk?
I can't speak about frozen milk but I did just travel with 80oz of fresh breast milk and I want to say they do not open the bottles - i was told they cannot open them nor can they ask you or your child to taste it. They test it by placing the closed bottle or bag in an open container thing and it vibrates and that's how it tests the milk (sorry I can't describe the test any better)

When I was coming back to NY from Florida with tons of BM they tested each and every single bag by placing it into a machine. They did not open the bags at all. The milk was not frozen just refrigerated and in a cooler bag at the airport.

Re: anyone travel w/frozen milk?
I've traveled with frozen milk before - I printed out the airline's policy on traveling with breastmilk plus the TSA guidelines just in case the security people tried to test each bag by opening them. I didn't have a problem. Last time I flew, though - I had to get pulled out of the security line because they wanted to check the pump for explosives.

I travelled with frozen milk...4 plane flights and only one time they searched my cooler bag. I don't remember what they did but I do remember they tested my hands.
