Thinking ahead.......DC is born in winter......I know California pizza kitchen is relatively cheap...but I always feel parties are so $$$$$$$$$$$ generally.

has anyone had a party indoors at their home in winter? for classmates?

what do you think?

I recommend at a place because I threw one at home and it was nuts. If you do decide at home make sure you have an end time on the invite I recommend an hour and a half like most places. You're going to end up hiring some kind of entertainment that's why it's worth just doing it somewhere.

child's party in winter

My DD is a late winter baby- and this year I had a home party with snow the day before that caused a school closing.

Anyway, it was fun and I'd do it again. It was 2 hours long with about 15 kids. I had an easy craft for them to do while we waited for all the kids, then we played a few games, we had pizza and cake, then a longer craft and a couple more games. It went quickly and I think most of the kids had a lot of fun. I was wiped out but it was less expensive than a place and even though DD's b-day is mid-March there's been significant snow at that time more than once so I'd hate to have to deal with rescheduling at a place.

I have Nov & Dec kids. I did what MrsProfessor did. 2 hrs max. Kids played games ate hot dogs or pizza some chips & juice. I got party supplies & crafts ftom Oriental Trading & made my own cake. Cost was nowhere near a venue.

Bowling is relatively low cost and a lot of fun.
