Etiquette Question re: sick child & party

DH's cousin is having a big 1st B-day party for her son tomorrow (restaurant).

We RSVP'd Yes a couple of weeks ago.

DS has had a cold for about a week now. He seems much better, a little clingy, but otherwise in good spirits, and definitely still a little on the boogery side.

We would like to go, but should we cancel since DS is sick?

DS is 9 months old, so he will not really be playing with the other kids. Most likely he will be in my arms or DH's the whole time.

What do you think? I'd hate to cancel 3 people last minute but I wouldn't want to get anyone else's kid sick either.

Cna you call your cousin and ask what she thinks? I bet she would appreciate it and she really might not mind .

I would call the cousin & ask too.

I would be fine with going & if someone came to one of my parties with just a cold.

In this case I would call the cousin and run it by her. As a parent, colds don't bother me so much as other things like Fifth's Disease (which is going around my son's daycare) or Coxsackie.

Right now I have cancelled all family and friend GTGs until I know that Lucas was unaffected and I am calling my OBGYN to see if I was tested during my pregnacy...if I'm not immune or wasn't test I won't be seeing anyone for 2 weeks either.

But I digress...for a cold...just ask and leave it up to her. I hope your little man is 100% soon! Chat Icon
