Playdates

How do you "gracefully" get out of playdates without looking like a meanie ? With working full time, homework, religion class, and activities its hard to schedule playdates . If my child wants to "play" ,s he can go outside with the neighborhood kids without "scheduling". I have never really had playdates as it just makes everything so much more difficult. Another reason, please don't take this the wrong way I don't want my child "hanging" out with this child outside of school ...

Re: Playdates

Say no. Say you're too busy. Tell them the truth and I guarantee the parent won't ask you again. Lol.

Re: Playdates

Just keep making excuses and if your DC is inviting kids over on her/his own, tell them it's your job to invite kids over, not theirs. I tell my DC this all the time. I would not send my DC on a playdate to anyone's house if I prefer my DC to not hang out with that child. Nor would I host one if I didn't feel the child was potential good friend.

If you have already made the playdate, someone got sick with the stomach bug, and you know how those things can linger Chat Icon
