flu shot

I got one the year I was pregnant for the first time in my life.

A bad flu will not only be bad for you but for the baby.

Re: flu shot

I will definitely get one. Not sure about dh and dc though.

Wouldn't the baby be covered if I get it. If so is there really a reason for other members in the family to get one as well?

Re: flu shot

Everyone in my household is getting one this year, to protect the baby and also since my DH will be having surgery and cannot get sick.

flu shot

Absolutely. I never got the flu shot ever before being pregnant with DS#1 (3 years ago) and I have gotten it every year since. Your baby has no protection against the flu but you. Even after they're born they can't get it until they're 6 months old. Pregnant women with the flu could have serious complications. Your immunity is already compromised because of the pregnancy.

I won't play with it. I've never had the flu and thank God I'm a generally very healthy person but I don't want to take chances. DS#1 and DH will get it too.

I'm getting it, but I've gotten it every year for the last 10 years. DD will becgettingbit as well, and DH usually gets one at work.

I wanted to go soon, but of course DD and Injave a bad cold at the moment, so Injave to wait until we are feeling better.

Re: flu shot

i am definitely getting one. My first pregnancy my dr said i should definitely get it. God forbid I get the flu, she said i could potentially lose the baby.

That was enough for me!

flu shot

I am still very torn about this.

I have never gotten it before in my life. I get the whole 'she is covered through me getting it' but I'm not to convinced it can't harm herin utero. That there could be possible side affects. This is just my opinion on things I have read online.

I'm still debating it. IMO - To me the flu shot is just the pharmacutical companies pushing it to make money...AGAIN JUST MY OPINION THOUGH.

Also with you ladies.. Coming from someone who worked for doctors for 10 years- and see what the doctors do for themselves.. 1 out of 6 doctors I worked for actually would get the shot

This is how I felt as well. I really was torn. Yesterday I went to my OB and due to some placenta issues, baby might be coming early. They thought I was crazy for not getting the shot and said that due to her possibly being born early, it was even more important to get it. I'm was so nervous and decided to get it, but now I'm kicking myself for not waiting.

Re: flu shot

I will not be getting the flu shot (11 weeks pregnant), DD will not be getting the shot (2.5yrs) and DH will also not be getting the shot.

DH works in a hospital and he is mandated to get the flu shot or he has to wear a surgical mask whenever he leaves his office. He always opts to wear the mask. You'd be shocked at how many doctors in the hospital refuse the shot as well.

I have done a lot of research and do not feel that it is the best decision for my family.

I will definitely not be getting the flu shot. the potential risks, to me, far outweigh the potential benefits.

my dh & my 3 year old son will not either.
