Daycare

Hi - My mother in law currently watches my 2 year old son and 9 month old daughter for us every day. Unfortunately, there is a family health issue going on and we don't know if she is going to be available to watch the kids every day.
So I am looking for somewhere or someone who would be able to take my kids on an as needed basis (at this point I'm not sure how frequently we will need daycare)
I'm just feeling very anxious about this because we haven't ever left our kids with anyone other than either of our parents! So I'm hoping I could have the kids view the location/meet the daycare provider before I have to just go and leave them one day.
I'm a teacher in Floral Park and live in North Massapequa - so I'm looking for somewhere in either of those areas.
I definitely appreciate any suggestions!!!!

There are very few places that offer drop in care. That is what you will need. I know people have posted a few in Suffolk.

Why not do 2-3 days a week? My DS goes 3 days and family watches 2 days. I actually prefer the daycare at this point.

Re: Daycare

Usually you have to pay for a set number of days a week. We pay for two days and sometimes use a third day and pay accordingly. But we have to give notice since they have to staff accordingly.

Re: Daycare

I know every center is individually owned , but my Tutor Time offers something called a flex pass where you pay upfront for a set number of days and use them whenever you need them. You just have to give them a few days notice that you are bringing your child.
Maybe call some Tutor Times in your area snd see if they offee something similar.

I am Stay at home mom with 2yr old twins. If this is on as needed basis, I would be interested. I am in East Meadow. I also have another friend in east meadow who would also be interested.
