Re: Kid craft ideas for grandparents
I purchased those hand print kits and you could completely use them as ornaments. They were a huge hit.

Re: Kid craft ideas for grandparents
Last year I bought small (like 4"x4") canvases from AC Moore. I had DD (she was 1.5, so I helped) make a green handprint on each one. Then, I turned the print upside down and used glitter glue to decorate it like a Christmas tree. I put the date on the bottom and hot glued a ribbon to the back to hang on the tree. I also mod podged strips of festive scrap book paper to the sides of the canvas, instead of leaving them plain white.
It sounds like a lot of steps, but was pretty easy bc the canvases were so small.

Re: Kid craft ideas for grandparents
My sister inlaw bought plain cheap wood arts and crafts frames from michaels and my nephews painted them. She out a photo of them in it. We received this as a gift from them 3 years ago, and it is still up in our living room - we love it!

I did this last year and they came out so cute! One warning, I didn't know how fragile they'd be so I packed ours in tissue paper to store at the end of the season and the paper stuck a little. This time I'm thinking I'll do parchment paper around it first bc they really are so cute and I want them to last!

Ours were all dried out and broken this year when we went to take them out

cute!! dd is one... I made green footprints... then turned them upside down, painted a red ribbon/bow so it was like they were "hanging", and painted "mistletoes" underneath... more paint around the border of the canvass, and I just wrote her name and the year really tiny
eta - to add pic

Kid craft ideas for grandparents
Re salt dough, the recipe we always use is: 2 c flour 1c salt 3/4 c water Mix and knead Roll out Cut w cookie cutters and poke holes Bake for 20 mins at 200 degrees Paint!
You can use any cookie cutter. My mom still has ones that we made as kids 30ish years ago, so they shouldn't be that fragile...
