Live-In Nanny Cost?
Does anyone have a live-in nanny? Would you share how much you pay her?
We have 3 kids (kindergarten, preschool, infant) and between my husband's travel and my job it is becoming difficult to get everyone where they need to be in the morning.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but we'd usually need her from 730 to 430. We have a 1 bedroom apartment that we would have her live in with cable, internet, heat etc all included....
Any idea of how much to pay? Also any recommendations of where we could find someone like this?

Would you do an au pair? We have kids the same age yours and now that we have one I could never go back. It is very affordable if you do an au pair. Fm for more details if you're interested. ...

Live-In Nanny Cost?
Au-pairs come from other countries on a work visa. my friend has twins & she paid like $350 week. "Dont quote me on rate, it was really low though compared to getting someone from here. You also have to provide room/board

Re: Live-In Nanny Cost?
We know families who have live in nannies and also au pairs. The au pairs get paid via au pair agency guidelines.
I have friends who pay $300-$1000 per week on top of the housing. One friend has 2 elementary school aged kids and pays $1000/wk but both parents work a lot of hours. The nanny gets the kids ready for school in the morning, picks up the kids from elementary school and takes them to after school activities. I believe nanny is free to do as she pleases during the day. She lives in M-F and goes home Fri-Sun. The have a separate housekeeper.
My one good friend paid $500 for live in help when her second child was born.
Our friends who have live in help highly suggested to us that we should also get live in help. However, DH and I don't like the idea of someone living with us so we pay more for non live in help.

Re: Live-In Nanny Cost?
Agree with others on the au pair idea. That makes the most sense economically and logistically if you need someone to live in.

I believe the au pair can only work a 40 hr week or whatever it is.......not allowed to work any other hours.

It's 45 hours each week, up to 10 hours each day.

But you can dictate the hours and days, as per your needs. It doesn't have to be Mon-Fri 9-5.
