How To Be The Best Parent Possible
This 2 hour workshop is for parents, educators and caregivers
with Rebecca Kammerer

The Workshop Program
Good parenting begins in your heart, and continues on a moment-to-moment basis by engaging your children when feelings run high, when they are sad, angry or scared. The heart of parenting is being there in a particular way when it really counts. The emotion coaching workshop is based on years of research. It is designed to teach parents about emotions and how they can successfully raise emotionally intelligent children.

Workshop Topics
How do you help children build emotional intelligence?
This workshop teaches the 5 steps to becoming a successful emotion-coaching parent:

1. Notice your child’s lower intensity emotions so they don’t need to escalate.
2. See these emotional moments as an opportunity for intimacy or teaching.
3. Help your child verbally label their feelings.
4. Express understanding and empathy.
5. Set clear and consistent limits and help your child problem solve.

Emotion-coached kids become emotionally intelligent people. They are better able to:
Control impulses and delay gratification
Soothe themselves when upset
Calm their heart rate faster, which leads to less infectious illnesses
Focus attention
Motivate themselves
Relate to other people
Perform better academically
Cope with life’s ups and downs

These key ingredients help kids become healthy, compassionate and moral adults who are likely to make successful life choices.
