Gum?

So dumb question... Ive been looking for a gum that doesn't contain aspartame. Even the sugar gums have it! Except for Bubblicious and the really sweet ones. I read aspartame could lead to birth defects, and I avoid diet stuff that has it.

Im sure the amount of aspartame is really low... but does every one still chew gum? LOL and what kind?

Re: Gum?

Oops. I've been chewing gum. Nothing crazy but maybe one trident gum every other day while at work.

Gum?

Idk I avoid everything with aspartame and all other artificial sweetners(not just during pregnancy, all the time) so I haven't chewed gum in years. I can't find one I like w/o it in it

Thank you! Yes I saw that at the store. Guess I was looking for a less sweet gum, but love those too!

Isnt that crazy??? I would think sugar gum wouldn't need to ave aspartame. I understand sugar-free having it. Grr

I try to avoid too...

I avoided gum too while pregnant. I got altoids instead but they aren't nearly as good for fresh breath as gum IMO

for what it's worth, no doctor ever mentioned it to me and i don't think i ever read it on any "avoid this" list. i just made a decision to avoid artificial sweeteners throughout pregnancy. i also found some energy bars to have artificial sweeteners in them too. protein powders too
