What color mulch?
Do you have a preference? and Why?
This is our first year putting down any and we disagree on color.
If it matters our house has more traditional looking grayish cedar shake siding.
Also, what is the earliest this is usually done?

We do red in the front because it goes really well w/ the house and it stands out. In the back where we have the garden, we do black so it blends in more.

We like the triple black mulch - just our preference.
We put it down in May....need to wait for the trees to do some of their shedding before it goes down - otherwise it's littered with needles, leaves and flowers.

I prefer black also. My ILs use red and I just don't like it as much. I think black has a cleaner, more contrasting look.

I prefer Black. We put it down in once we get a really nice weekend - sometime in late April-May.

I also prefer black. I think it makes the color in the flowers really stand out.

We've used black or brown. We generally get 3 yards delivered in may. I try to do it a week or two before Memorial Day because it smells for a little while. I'm not a fan of any of the other colors.

We have grey coloring and have done red but prefer black. Mid May we usually throw it down. Love the look of our home when it's done.
