Emotional/hormonal mess
Has anyone felt like an emotional mess from hormones being all over the place after an IVF and/or a chemical? I'm at the end of AF, but I feel more like I'm PMS'ing. I'm very irritable and ready to cry at the drop of a hat -- both of which are great at work.
If anyone has experience with this, how long did it take for you to get back to feeling "normal?"
I have had problems with PMDD in the past, so I don't know if that's playing a role. Typically, though, that would come into play just before my period, not after.
Any tips, advice, reassurances would be greatly appreciated.

Emotional/hormonal mess
I never really felt normal...more like ok I can do this and put on my big girl panties. Talking myself into being normal eventually led me to being normal until a new cycle started , then hormones all over again. I just tried to have the confidence in my dr and faith it happened before so it would happen again . 2 chemicals later - I'm in my second tri. It was never easy some days were just better then others.

Emotional/hormonal mess
I was always a mess with all those meds. Even now post partum my hormones are all out of whack. I think that's just part of my make up.
Going for a walk in the sunshine helps. This weekend should be nice. Try to get out and doing something fun. Get back to the old you. Trick yourself even just for a few hours.

I would talk to your doctor about it. After a failed round I was always upset, but otherwise I was not overly hormonal.

Re: Emotional/hormonal mess
Thanks, everyone. I'll give the doctor a call if it's still going on once AF is finally over. It's just tough to get a moment of privacy at work to try to call. (Plus the annoying coworker I've posted about is in the next office and can't keep her nose in her own business.)
The weird thing, though, is that I was fine when I was on the meds. I'd been expecting the worst (mood swings, etc), but didn't get any of that. I guess that just goes to show how messed up my hormones are when left to their own devices.

829, I was pretty stable on the meds too funny enough :) Now that I am off almost 5 weeks I am hot and cold, happy and sad, etc. I think though that is a consequence of the miscarriage.......
It's a tough road to walk...someone said to me last night as I was balling over the mention of a crib that I am just going to have to accept that I have good days and bad days and go with it. Not over think it. Maybe its the same for you....just need time? Did you get your period post chemical? I am still waiting.

My Beta dropped to 12 on 3/6 and was down to zero by 3/12. Do you calculate the weeks post chemical from when the Beta dropped or from when it went to zero?
I had what I thought was a slightly lighter AF from 3/15-3/20, only to have AF arrive in full force on 3/27.
I know some of my moodiness, etc. is just from the emotional impact of the chemical, but some of it really feels hormonal. The hormonal, cystic acne all over my chin has been a really nice touch, too. I guess I was just hoping that AF would have kind of reset some of the hormonal stuff. I just feel totally PMS'y.

It sounds like your body hasn't fully reset itself, hence the hormones. Hopefully you will feel more balanced after the next cycle which would be your first full cycle after the chemical. I had my mc on 2/26 with 7 days of bleeding. Just spotted now 5 1/2 weeks later so I think this is finally the arrival of AF....which would explain my high emotional state this past week (i.e.my post last Monday!) and the tears throughout the week. F*&^%$$ hormones!!!!
