working on LI and interviewing in NYC?
I'd ideally like to get a new job in the city but working on LI makes interviewing very challenging because of timing - without leaving early or coming in late there's no way I could be somewhere comfortably before 7pm. Nobody wants to interview that late!
Can anyone think of good excuses other than sickness?

Have to take a family member to a doctor appt in city?

Or doctor appt for yourself. I have found too that many employers get in around 7am so maybe you can set something up then and just drive in for the interview so you aren't that late to your current job.

Those are great ideas, thanks. I feel like maybe I'm a little paranoid but I've been out of the office a lot recently. I was legitimately sick twice but worked from home once so I could go to an interview. This was all within the last 1 1/2 months.

It is what it is. You'll run into the same issues interviewing for another job on LI, too. You make excuses to get away from the office.
